FAQ

Q. What modalities are used during my treatment?

A. Treatments may consist of acupuncture, moxabustion, cupping, and/or lifestyle and nutritional counseling as needed. Herbal formulas are often prescribed and are available at additional cost.

Q. How long does an appointment take?

A. First time appointments take approximately 90 minutes; follow up appointments generally last 45 minutes to an hour.

Q. Do you accept insurance?

A. We accept most insurance plans. Upon booking we will verify your benefits. Your portion of payment is due at time of service. Please allow 48 hours prior to your appointment for benefit verification. We accept cash and credit card payments.

Q. How should I prepare for my appointment?

A. If this will be your first appointment, be sure to complete all the forms you received via e-mail at least 24 hours before your scheduled time. If you’d like us to bill your insurance, 48 hours is necessary in order to verify benefits.  Eat a light meal prior to your appointment, wear loose comfortable clothing, and avoid the use of caffeine or alcohol just prior.

Q. What is PAHM’s cancellation/no show policy?

A. Outside of extreme circumstance, PAHM requires 24 hours notice for cancellation. If notice is not given 24 hours prior to canceling/no showing, you will be charged the full amount of your treatment and that amount must be paid before your next treatment.

Q. What is PAHM’s late policy?

A. Please contact us to let us know you’re running late. You will be responsible for the full price of treatment, and schedule-pending, your treatment may be shortened. If our schedule is unable to accommodate, tardiness of more than 15 minutes may require you to reschedule.

Q. What is PAHM’s policy on the use of electronics in the treatment room?

A. Please refrain from using electronics once you are in the treatment room. We ask that you turn your phones on silent or completely off.

Q. Can I bring my child to my appointment?

A. Supervision for your child is not available at the clinic. Please secure childcare prior to your appointment, as we cannot ensure the safety of your child unsupervised.
